$8000 off is a pretty sweet deal, 2011 X5s don't have LED rings in North America only the 2012 models do, also I dont know if you have heard but the proposed X5 40d that is currently out in Europe has an eight speed automatic instead of the current 6 speed also carries a horsepower bump to 300hp yet more efficient than the 35d. This is why I'm inline for the 40d when it gets here...hope this helps!

I agree to the part where the CAs are a bad source for information but I will be waiting in that line for the 40d even if its not official. The reason being is that it if you look closely on the BMW Canada website X5 configurator the picture they are showing for the X5 35d has a side badge that reads "xdrive40d". Yes, it could be a mistake but if one in three X5s sold in NA is a diesel, it would be an absolute mistake in BMW's part to not get it over here, when literally the 40d is built in south carolina.

I have being waiting for something more concrete on the 2012 changes to the D. I am having a hard time waiting as I see others driving their X5s.
I am hoping that we will see the new engine, otherwise why would BMW wait to release the diesel model so late in the year... |

At this point since we need a car badly, I may buy a 2009 and trade that in for a 2013/14 when the redesigned one comes out.
I am thinking (rationalizing), even if the new engine comes out later this year, I should let BMW iron out all the bugs... |

Well, I ended up buying a 2010 X5 yesterday. This will give me couple of years of satisfaction.
This is my first BMW and I am liking it already. It is different than MB I have driving around. Folks who are waiting, it is worth the wait. Good luck. |

Yeah, I'm guessing he meant $8k under MSRP.....
But if he really did get $8k under invoice, I'd like to know who his CA is......
