Low battery charge. I've seen the car on lift symbol on my old 550 when it sat for a while. Loosing the time on your clock is another symptom. Take the car for a good 20+ minute drive at highway speeds to recharge the battery...

Happens in my X6 all the time but that was because it was a lemon it occurred with multiple other errors as well. I would say take it for a nice long drive or try a trickle charger overnight since it sat for a few weeks. If you charge it you'll most likely still have to set the time and date the next time you start it but should be fine after that.

Is this the original battery that came with the car? If so, could just be getting old and not holding charge like it should. I've left my '08 550 and '11 M3 for 2 weeks with no issues or trickle charger. At almost 4 years old, battery maybe tired...

Had the same symbols a couple of months ago and in my case it was the battery.

Do you have an aftermarket pulley? If you do I believe you'll experience this more often than most. I do and it happens to me too often if I don't drive it a lot.

aside from your 2-week event, do you drive your car regularly? I ask b/c I also have an 08 and I don't drive everyday, but about once every 4 days and alot on the weekends. You have really low miles, I mean REALLY low for an 08 and if it's just sitting there with no trickle the battery will be in no way the same as my car (15k) or a regularly drive 08 (30k)

Your battery is no longer holding a charge. You should replace the battery, and purchase a trickle carger so it does not happen again. This is a cause of the extended periods of sitting the car has experienced.

Let me also get you some additional bad news: There is a 99% chance that warranty will not cover the battery, so you will be paying for the battery replacement and programming.

The yellow service light is most like due to the vehicle forgetting the time/date. Some of the items, such as the brake flush are triggered by time. Check the vehicle service after you reset the clock.

Incorrect! That is a service reminder light used to indicate upcoming maintenance on the vehicle. When you're close it's yellow, when the car is overdue it turns bright red. Most people don't even know it's there.

Should be able to, just throw a tender on it to charge it back up or take it for a drive...

On my former 2011 I got all kinds of bogus messages. Took it to the dealership they updated the software and all was fine after that. On my 2012 no issues so far I am not at the Break in service yet ... perhaps after my dealer plays with it I may have issues I hope not touch wood.

I was geting exactly the same messages sice a month or so. I tried long drives, which solve the problem for a couple of days or so.

You need a new battery.
