Leather cleaning
Unfortunately I've been very slack with keeping the leather up to scratch over the last 8 months. I gave her a clean about a month ago (warm soapy water to wash and Autoglym Leather conditioner to finish).
My problem is the constant dirty look; the leather always looks like it has a greyish/dirty haze. Any of you use a particular method/products that you have found works? Luckily I still have the beautiful rough texture of the leather but she just needs a great clean |

I have always used Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner..
My Coral Leather stills looks like new.. Even removes the denim dye stains that are left from your jeans butts... |

As in warm water prior to the Meguiars? Ah so many questions: do you use a brush or just MFs? |

Now and then after a wash, I will wipe down all the interior, including the leather with a clean damp microfibre cloth.. Having a convertible, my interior does need more TLC than the coupe, being open to the all kinds of weather conditions and grand kiddies...SEE Avatar.. Last edited by Zuzu; 06-12-2011 at 11:54 PM.. |

I use my duragloss cleaner with my swissvax brush then condition the leather. My lemon leather is still looking good!
I do it every month usually. every other week when i wash the car i just take a damp cloth and go over the leather. |

Great thread, thanks for the tips everyone. I've been getting away with using a wet cloth to wipe down the seats but they are starting to look a bit dirty. I'll look into the products, would love to use Swissvax but that stuff costs a fortune.

I use the BMW leather cleaner. Seems to work well.
I heat the leather before application either by parking in full sun during summer or running the A/C on maximum sweat during winter - this seems to open up the pores of the leather for better penetration. |

Ah bit late to this but great thread - gonna start treating my leather a bit better, and save some money at the detailers! Not game enough to try exterior as I'm paranoid of scratches O.o.

If you move into buffing, be sure to get a random orbital as you literally have to hold the buffer steady and put all your weight on it to do any sort of mild damage to the paintwork. |

But if you don't do circular movement is a lot harder to see the micro scratches. |
