1M car cover question

BMW's website shows that a form fit car cover is available for the 1M, but the part number is the same as the cover for the 135i, so I'm not convinced it will fit. Obviously the fenders are wider on the 1M, but isn't this cover made with stretch material? Does anyone know if it will really fit, or are there other indoor covers available yet from other vendors?

I got the cover for the 1, when I get my car I'll try it on and let you know, it's about 2 weeks away and the wait is agonizing.

Cheers

I have the oem fitted cover from my 135, and it fits my 1M just fine. The only tight fit occurs in the side mirror sleeves.

I have the CoverCraft FormFit on the 135i and will keep it for the 1///M. I am pretty sure it will fit because it does stretch, in fact it is a little loose currently around the mirrors, so shouldn't be a big deal. Best indoor cover you can get for your car!

When you say that it's a tight fit on the mirrors, how tight do you mean?

The mirror pockets on the oem indoor car cover do not stretch and due to the buttressed side mirror design of the 1M, they are a tight (meaning exact) fit for the 135 cover. The pockets accommodate the 1M mirrors but there is no extra space when compared to the 135.

Does it bother you enough that you wish you waited for a different cover?

Of all the covers I have seen, the oem indoor form-fitted cover is really top notch quality. Make sure you wash your car before using any cover, however, to avoid scratching the clearcoat.

Just got around to putting mine on.....

In case anyone is still interested, this is how the standard BMW 1 series coupe outdoor fitted car cover looks on my 1M. Perfect!

I have been wondering about covers for some time but have a question. OEM Indoor or Outdoor cover?

It seems that the Outdoor cover could be used for both right? Is the Outdoor cover lined to avoid scratching? Other differences between the two covers?

I have used Aftermarket covers for other cars but not the BMW OEM's.

Thanks

Anyone have any thoughts on form fitting vs the outdoor BMW covers? I plan to only cover and store indoors and don't need the outdoor protection, so seems the indoor form fit is the choice, but is more expensive and seems like the outdoor cover looks thicker and might protect the car better against the accidental bumps or nudges from the little people in my house.

I have the same questions.

I currently have the FormFit cover on the 135i and plan to reuse on the 1///M. It is strictly indoors which is fine with me, and is the best such cover I have owned (in fact have the same for my other car). It is actually pretty thick and heavy, think of a heavy fleece sweatshirt. It offers good protection for accidental door dings of you are concerned the guy next to you can slam open his door (though of course depends on the force). Totally worth the money IMO

Here's the cover that I would want (credit to sparoz for the picture, taken from his delivery thread). Not for any practical uses. Rather, because it captures the imagination!

BMW NA has a unique, all black, Powered By M indoor/outdoor cover for the 1M for which the dealer bulletin should go out within a week in the US. It is awesome. MSRP will be in the low-$300s.
