Took my car in Friday morning..

At 9am to get a software update and it's still not ready.. My tech said the initial software update failed so they are re-doing it. Should I be nervous that something else is going on? How long does a software update take? Maybe im just being paranoid lol

They fail every now and then. If it gets to be 3rd or 4th try then you should have an issue.

That's frustrating. Hope they let you know soon. I'm taking mine in for annual oil change thursday, asked if there were any updates / recalls and they said no. Thought the early 2010 builds were all getting the update?

Yah... I would be mad as well. My story dates back to when I first had my 1st oil change in my 09' 128. They decided to update my software and in the process blew out my radio somehow... replaced it but produced a white noise that is apparently un-fixable... needless to say I talked with the dealer manager and got a really good deal on my performance exhaust + install for free. (due to my car going into the shop 4-5 times more because of issues related to the first update!)

Hopefully your experience doesn't turn into mine!

Damn that sucks but at least you got the exhaust out of it!

Still haven't heard from them today this is getting pretty ridiculous.. I feel like the guy is just bullshitting me on the phone but what reason would he have to?

That would be sweet! Lot of weasel words though "possibly..." "look into..." Good luck.

I would insist they make amends for being inconsiderate at the least. I've never heard of a software update taking more than a day. They can be slow because there is so much information and occasionally they can fail but two days is too long.
Hope all goes well

Making a payment?! I want your dealer. Mine took almost 2 days due to software update failures as it took multiple attempts to do it. However, I think that's a little much to make a payment in return for the car being the shop for a couple of days. I'm happy as long as they give me a loaner for the time they have my car and that it's returned in the same of better condition. They always wash mine prior to returning it.

They "detailers" are probably putting swirls in your paint.
You'd be better off not getting it washed by them if you want it in the same, or better, condition.

Had mine in for an oil and filter change today. Mine was made 3/2010, though it is a 2011. No update for me. I like it just fine the way it is.

Mine is an early 2011 also and my service guy told me last week that a software update recall was coming and they would need it all day to do it.
