map and gracenote updates for '09?

Has anyone gotten map and gracenote database updates? I thought I remembered something about how this can only be done by the dealer?? Or is this a DVD you buy at the parts counter and load yourself? Will the dealer do it free under warranty or is it something you have to ask for and pay extra for?

If you are asking about the NAV map update, it is available from the dealer. Just put it into the DVD drive and go.

Are you sure that's the case with the 09's and the hard drive based system? I keep seeing things that say the dealer needs to load the new maps for you.

Youn are correct as he's referring to the pre-2009 system where the $200 2011 DVD map updates load into the drive.

But I believe your system requires dealer assistance.
