BMW wheel and tire warranty
The dealer offered BMW wheel and tire warranty (not 3rd party) for $1350 for 3 years. Never gotten this type of insurance before. What do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Thanks for the reply, my dealer originally offered me $1500 for 3 years which I now got down to $1350. I basically said I'd pay $1000 for 3 years but I don't think they're gonna budge (and neither am I). Guess I'll see what happens with this group buy.

My dealership (Passport BMW in DC / MD Metro) offered the tire and wheel coverage at $1049 for 5 years, unlimited miles. If you are interested, call either John Dugan (CA) or Jeff Steel (Finance).

I bought a wheel and tire package from my local Virginia dealer, BMW of Alexandria, and I was charged $1,000 for 5 years protection. I thought that was expensive until I saw everyone else's posts.

I never do these, but did on the 1M. One look at those wheels after delivery and I made the right choice. My dealer offered 5 yrs for $1k, seemed like good piece of mind to me.

Apparently the BMW wheel/tire warranty (not aftermarket wheel warranty from a company like Zurich) must be purchased at the time of sale - you can't go to another dealership and purchase it at a later date.

I am buying my 1M from a dealer in Ga-- it will be delivered to the PCD... and my dealer in Va "says" they will do the tire/wheel insurance-- They quoted me $1295 for 5 yrs. [it is a 3rd party insurance-- but even the BMW insurance says it "is administered by Safe-Guard Products Int" ]

Dumb question.
What exactly does the warranty cover? Personally, I'll never put another set of run flats on the car once the original set is dead. But the wheels are uber nice and if it covers road rash it might be worth the investment. I guess I'm curious what constitutes replacement? Also is there a deductable? |

My dealership had two types of Tire/Wheel warranty packages - one from BMW, and the other was an aftermarket company. I purchased the BMW 5 year unlimited mlleage contract for $1350. I also purchased the BMW Dent package for 5 years for just over $400. Considering I just paid $300 to have my other BMW touched up by Dent Wizard (at $100 per panel), and it is the second time I have had it done in 3 years, the dent package made sense to me - but I am very picky regarding door dings. Besides, my 1M will be my daily driver, so even though I am always very careful where I park, stupid people seem to love to park next to it.
