Is there going to a 2010 1M ?

Is there going to be a 2012 1M? I was thinking about getting on a list for the 1m and I was told by the dealer that if I don't get a 2011 1m then I would be put in line for a 2012 1m should they build it! I thought this was a limited production vehicle? Part of it's appeal to me was it's limited production run and rarity on the street. Now I don't know if I want to put myself on the list since it could mean I would be on the hook for a 2012 model I didn't want. I was going to trade in my 09 135 convertible my now I'm thinking I might just invest in performance upgrades on the car I already own. Any thoughts?

Has anyone heard anything about a 2012 1m from their dealer?

Well, 2012 will probably be available outside the U.S. but everything I have read indicates that production will end in Dec '11 inside the U.S.

As far as 2010 availability, it was just a glimmer in M Boss Dr. Kay Segler eye in 2010.

Production of all N54 powered cars will end once 2012 rolls in. The N54 doesn't meet the new emission standards going into effect next year

NO!

They will make a 1M in a couple of years after they roll out the 2013 model. There is usually 1 year lag between new model and M version so 2014 model should come Summer 2013..about 2 years from now.

The 2011 will be it for a couple of years and production stops December 2011.

The CA at the Austin dealer said that they've announced a 2012 model but there's no details yet. I can't find anything to corroborate - anyone else have any other information?

The thing that I've heard is that 1M doesn't comply with the new EPA standard that will take effect by 2012. So that being said, I'm not sure if they can roll a 2012 model atleast here in NA.

My CA actually sent me an article stating that production was ending in Dec. But, a few more threads like this and I am sure BMW will reconsider.

NO! If they reconsider and come out with Interlagos Blue, I will be CRUSHED! That's what I really wanted!

Oh no, don't say such things.

Chances are slim to none. It's my understanding that certification for the N54 motor to be exported into the U.S. expires at the end of this year.

I heard they are going to use the N55 for the 2012 MY. Also that there was going to be a convertible and a CSL version.

The South African press launch was last week and subsequent to that almost every press article has referred to the possibility of more cars next year. SA allocation also went up from 64 to 71.

My CA at BMW of Austin told me he received "official" confirmation that there would be no 1M's produced in 2012. That was about 2 weeks ago.

If there was a 2012 M coupe, you wouldn't here everyone bitching about the limited availability, they would just place their order and be picking them up next spring.

The good people at the Leipzig (Werk) told me (in an email) that the 1M Coupe will be built until March, 2012. From March onwards the F20 begins production.

I do not know IF that will be just one model year or two. I will ask next month when we go on our English speaking tour.
