Not sure whether you're going to get any significant power gains without a tune. I would be worried on how much hot air that type of intake arrangement is going to suck in. I prefer the look of the stock air box. I think you would be better off doing a Mr. 5 modification to the stock intake. I might do this myself.

I personally wouldn't do intake unless you have a tune, Downpipes and even meth going first. It also looks horrible compared to the stock box, however you do get that "woosh" sound.
In terms of the AFE intake, I believe they are the best option for the N54, so I guess the N55 shouldn't disappoint! |

I just added the afe scoops to mine with the objective of putting the afe closed box intake on next.
The scoops have actually had an effect. The car is slightly more throttle sensitive at speed, but I suspect the extra air is causing the car to run slightly richer as my fuel economy has increased by about 0.5l per 100k. As mentioned above, I suspect the only way to get the full benefit of these mods is to fit them and then get the car retuned to suit.

There are BMS, AFE or K&N drop in replacement filter.
Good thing about drop in replacement filter, they used back the stock airbox which you will not void your warranty. There's a few in Ebay selling the K&N ones. Will performance gain is not as much as the pod ones but still every single hp counts. |

Actually no it doesn't. Most Australian 135 owners are steptronic daily traffic users.

What warranty - warranty on the airbox? Well it wouldn't really matter because you're no longer using the OEM airbox... As for other parts of the car, drivetrain, HPFP it won't affect that at all.

Why don't you measure the pressure drop using the standard equipment to determine where the bottlenecks are before you indiscriminately change over to less effective filtering options?

Any pod filter is a red flag.

Not entirely true... It's different in one state to the next. In NSW, the air filter must be sealed in an enclosure, not exposed.
In VIC or QLD, not sure which, pod filters can be exposed... But you can't do a FMIC at the same time, one or the other.
