Grease the hub ring?
Hello, I am new to this forum and love how informative it is.
I just received my awesome looking winter tires and rims from Tire Rack. I just started putting them on the car and had a hell of a time removing the rear wheels. After finally removing them I noticed that the hub ring is already very rusty after just 8 months of owning the car.. To prevent this problem in the future and to stop the rust, do you think it would be OK to apply high temperature grease to the inside and outside of the ring. Salty winter roads is just around the corner and I want to protect it from getting worst. Rich |

You can use an anti-seize compound, just make sure you limit where you put it or it will spray all over when the wheels are spinning. I use Loctite 767

Anti-seize, just don't put it on the lugs themselves or you have to change you torque wrench settings....

Good advice. Cleaning off any existing rust along with applying anti-seize will help for sure. That's what I was going to suggest.
