Navigation screen

Just got my 08 128i with Navigation and figured everything out but it seems like there is no easy way to just show the current location on a map screen without having to go into the menue every time I start the car, or am I missing it somewhere? I would love to turn on the car, the screen flips up and shows the navi screen with the current location, or maybe just pressing one button.

assuming you have voice navigation, you can just press the "voice command" button and your steering wheel and say "Map". I have 2008 535 and this is what I do. works the same way in my 2012 135i.

Another thing....HI BMW....can you put a nice little clock on the side so I know when I'll get to where I want to be and how far away it is?
Why does my $200 Wallyworld GPS does that and you don't! DORK!

I thought that was in a small gray box on the right hand side of the map? one box shows (among other things) current time, the other shows distance to go and ETA?

Easy.

1) set up the screen as you like it, ie 3D perspective, direction of travel etc. Then when you switch on just press NAV and it will open up as desired.

2) press the idrive controller during a mapped journey and info will pop up in a grey box on the right hand side of the screen
