First of all Congrats on the new roady.
For exhaust I suggest going to Youtube and listening to some of them. I have a Remus and love it. It's just a tad bit loader than stock and has a deeper note. No Drone. On a warm to hot sunny day with the top down it sounds awesome! Very nice burble. The fit was not to my taste. I thought te exhaust tips hung a little low, so I had the hangers cut short and raised it about 20mm. There have been several post on this board about using a straight pipe with good results with minimum to no drone. Worth looking into.

I just got a Remus Sport (vs. race) and really like it alot, too. As the other poster said, it's a bit louder than stock at lower RPMs, but when you lay into the gas, it opens up nicely. It was the only one of the many brands that seemed to be that way. Most are more aggressive. The Eisenmann also seem good, but cost alot more and have a bit more edge.
I have an M-coupe, so may not be quite the same, but no complaints about drone or other interior nose here, and it doesn't have that raspy "rice" edge and back-popping that I especially didn't want. I ordered mine directly through the distributor in Emeryville b/c I'm in the Bay Area. Great folks to work with-- I dealt with Duffy, who works on the aftermarket auto side (Remus does alot of OEM and bike exhausts). You may be able to save a few bucks with a retailer on sale, etc. (but they all come from Emeryville). Only issue is, like alot of Z4 mods, there aren't alot of these cars on the road (the M probably makes this worse), so merchants don't keep alot of stock around, and mine took about nine weeks to come over on the boat. Quality is very good, though, and they bolt on without welding or cutting (takes a little effort, but not too hard). The clips on You Tube help and are the best you can do to compare without hearing them live. Keep in mind that they are not professional recordings and are better used to compare brands than as an absolute guide. I was apprehensive about being disappointed after all that time and money, but as soon as I got it done and took it out, I was really glad I had done it. Good luck!
