You know you HAVEN'T been to the track when...

You wash your car on a rare 55-degree January day in the Northeast and stare longingly at the hot-rubber scuff marks on the front bumper and hood, left over from last season...

I did not track. I never do but strangely for such a warm day, I could not get traction out of the rear tires today.

....you consider going to Adams Motorsports Park, K1 or Speedzone for some go karting.

I've never gotten traction in first. Not even close.

Man, ya'll need to relocate to sunny SoCal. Doing 6 track days this month (Buttonwillow 01/08, Auto Club Speedway 01/14, Chuckwalla 01/15, Streets of Willow 01/21, Auto Club Speedway 01/28 and Big Willow 01/29).

Not so bad here in NorCal either. Buttonwillow is not that far away, and we have the two best tracks in California (Thunderhill and Infineon), plus Laguna Seca (the worst track in California, but some don't seem to mind)...and weather has been cooperating this winter.

Sadly, with all that temptation close at hand, my wife won't let me do more than 8 track events this year. :\

You set camber at -10º all around with $8k 21" rims, spend $5k on suspension w car lowered to 1" clearance, $10k on visual mods, $8k on exhaust, $5k on BBK ... and have an immaculate paintjob with nary a nick, swirl, scratch or bug smear. (Not that I would turn such a car down, mind you!)

...when you sign up for a winter lapping day knowing full well the high temps are supposed to be mid-30's with snow in the afternoon... and then come close to crying when they cancel it.

You feel your brand new snow tires squishing around under the car as you go down the interstate and know that this is the best it is going to get for 4 months...

...when you run out of trash bags for tire storage

Luckily that's not an M6 unless they swapped out the SMG shift knob for a regular auto one somehow, gauges are wrong too...eww

Be careful of staring directly at that car - permanent retinal damage can occur!
