Hooked on Driving - Rd ATL Feb 18-19

Afternoon all,

Has anyone run with Hooked On Driving before?

They have a Feb weekend with Vintage Drivers Club of America coming up that i'm thinking of attending. There's good and bad to go along with a mixed weekend like this. They offer 3 - 30 min sessions on Sat and 4 on Sunday but it's $475. Seems high for no guaranteed instruction and very iffy weather wise.

I might just wait and do Peachtree CCA in March.

I have never run with them before, but this time of year, its a crap shoot regarding the weather. So far this winter, at least in NC, ithe weather has been great. Today 61 degrees and sunny.

As to price, hold on to your seat belts - all tracks have gone up in price, 8 to 10%, which of course means, you will as they say, see it at the pumps.

When is the deadline for entry? Might look into it seeing as how close I am, might be able to squeeze in at rd Atlanta, otherwise may wait for the CCA...

Deadline is probably a week or so before.

Did we meet at Oktoberfest? I remember a white M3 from Asheville. Is that you?
I'm down for CCA for sure.

Well technically it's 3 1/2 hours over both days but it's still high. Might just ride down to see the vintage cars.

Ran with HOD twice last year and had a great time at each of those events. Do think $475 sounds a bit high, wouldn't think over $400 but... They seem to cater to street cars a bit more and saw a Cherokee SRT and Audi wagon out there. Would stay away from the novice group if you've been on track before. Here's a short video of me in the intermediate group at a HOD event last summer.

One thing I don't like is the cone turn-in/track-out method. People tend to drive those instead of the track, don't like I one bit...
