Any one running Bridgstone RE-11s

Anyone running Bridgstone RE-11s on their 135i - I have the performance suspension and the stock wheels.

BMW86 was running it.

I am running Bridgestone S-04 (one below the RE-11) and is pretty damn good!

I've gone through a few sets of RE-11's and running the PSS now. The RE-11's are fantastic, you can't get any better for the money.

Having driven on the RE-11's, Dunlop Star Specs, Kumho Ecsta XS's, Michelin Pilot Super Sports and numerous other performance tires I feel that the RE-11's are the best overall. They wear nicely, they have awesome sidewalls, low noise, high dry grip and reasonable wet grip. Just a damn good tire...

Which do you prefer, RE-11's or PSS?

I've got PSS on my stock 261's, need new rubber on my set of 19's. I love the PSS but I've never tried the RE-11's. Would you say they're better?

Different category tires. RE-11's are one step below a race compound tire. They are amazing in the dry, and OK in the wet.

The PSS is better in the wet, not as much grip in the dry, lasts longer, rides better, etc.

It simply depends what qualities you're looking for as to which would be better.

+ 1 on Gill's comments.

I can't make a fair comparison because I went through a few sets of RE-11s on 18's and the PSS are mounted on 19s.

I found the RE-11's to be better in the dry, plenty of grip that exceeded my driving abilities. If you wanted pure performance, then go for the RE-11s. The downsides are that they don't perform as well in the wet, but I rarely play in the wet anyway. They are also a noisy tyre, this doesn't bother me too much. Also, they aren't the most economical tyre either, but part of that is due to my driving style. In the dry though, they are a bloody good tyre. I still have a set of RE-11s mounted to my 18 CSL's that I am keeping for track days.

The PSS have the edge in the wet, but being on 19s with a lower profile, it's still not very good. I feel like it has less grip than the RE-11 in the dry and I can lose traction in 2nd, but I think that has more to do with having a lower profile tyre though.

Both are excellent tyres. I went with PSS because the RE-11s didn't come in sizes I needed for my 19s. The RE-11s are still my favourite street tyre, although I'm happy with the PSS.
