While I believe the E46 is a timeless design, I must admit that it does look a little dated next to the 1er. Beautiful cars!

Funny you say that, I never really thought my E46 design looked dated, until it was parked next to the 1M...but still a good looking car to me thats aging well.

My E46 and 1M at my PCD last August

I absolutely love my 1M, but I do think it looks a bit boxy from the side. I like the lines on my E36 M3 better. I think Jeremy Clarkson nailed it when he referred to it as the "sit up and beg Bimmer" (or did he say Beemer?) in that Top Gear video. But you can't beat the way it looks from the front or the rear, especially the rear.

I actually like the E46 better for looks. I have OE CSL parts coming so will have a full CSL change over. But the 1 looks meaner and newer.

Both are great cars and both offer a TONE of fun. Can't go wrong with either

I love the 'British Bulldog' stance of the 1M.

Of the E46 cars, I think the M3 and ZHP variants look the most modern and will age the best.

Yes and also: CSL 4ever, the best looking M3 ever, probably best performing as well (numbers are not everything).

So, I guess you like white boats?
