So the #94 car was out ~ 4 hrs into the race. The #93 car is still running P16 in GT.

Not into this ..... as an e9xm3 owner.
It's all a farce as far as the BMW marque in this competition. The 2 Turner cars are the same tube chassis that was the M6 last year, only now with e92m3 body panels. They have S62 engines. So not a single piece of that car is an e9xm3. Yet they are getting their ass kicked by factory built tub chassis Porsches, Ferraris and Audis (the Mazda RX8 and Camaros are also tube chassis) And the 3 Riley BMWs are loaded with Dinan Stroked S62 engines and got man handled by Fords On top of that, BMW was running commercials featuring the M3 GTS which is not sold in the US = wtf?? This Daytona 24 was a fail for BMW by BMW Last edited by mastek; 01-30-2012 at 04:04 AM.. |

Was a fun race to watch. Really rooting for the weather tech car in GT to see a fellow racer in our T2 class win. (Cooper MacNiel) but their axle broke just before the end.

Regardless of how BMW as a marque did, it was fun to watch just for the racing--an amazing feat for drivers, crews, and cars to sustain 24hrs. And there are other good guys to root for in the series besides the Turner crew or Fall-line or Ganassi/Dinan: there's Leh Keen, former frequent m3poster, who runs in the #59 Brumos Porsche, and there are the Taylor boys--Jordan is in the #88 Camaro, and Ricky races in the SunTrust DP car. They're young, incredibly talented, and a class act.
