Get on The Ski Poll
Hey Guys,
This year so far conditions have been busted for many skiers/snowboarders. The north east, Cali, Colorado and Utah all have little snow. Looks like Austria and the pacific north west is your only good bet. Anyway I wanted to make a poll of Bimmer peeps who are into winter sports. My favorite local place is Jay in Vermont. Tell me your favorite spot. Enjoy this winter! Susi Last edited by 1M SUSI; 01-28-2012 at 08:25 AM.. |

I snowboard. Back home I hit up Big Bear. I don't have a favorite spot in Germany, but Feldberg (sp) in Germany, and Jungfrau (sp) in Switzerland are the best places ive hit up so far.

Been snowboarding for 20+ years now.
Although I don't own a 1M, so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to talk about it here or not in this exclusive little section of the forum. |

I'm just bored cuz my 1m has been in hibernation since thanksgiving and I can't wait to bust her out of her winter sleep. Thought it would be something else to talk about since I'm not driving the car and I luv winter sports. So step up peeps and take the poll even if you don't partake in "suck" sports. I'm stuck here in ATL where it's 55 degrees and sunny skies.
My significant other though, is on her way to Zell Am See, Austria. Working for a living sucks sometimes

Nice.
I moved to MN from Miami, FL near the end of high school. Quite a change. Met some friends, and one of them had a Burton catalog. We decided to buy some boards and give it a shot (he bought an Elite 150, I actually ended up w/ a Sims). We rode our asses off, went to Spirit Mtn in Duluth a couple dozen times, a small place over in WI, and hiked the golf course hills around here too. Did this every year, year after year. I actually won a "competition" at a local place (Quadna, when it still existed) somewhere around 1990 or so. Sounds impressive but it wasn't even close to what we're seeing on TV these days, not by a long shot. Been out west a ton of times just to go riding, would have to say Big Sky is my favorite. Not many places that you can take a tram above the treeline. Been to Europe several times but never at the right time of year to snowboard. Last time I was there, in Switzerland, was last March. I actually brought much of my gear "just in case" but it was too late. Got a new setup last year and went locally a few times, but haven't gone yet this year. Between working on my house a lot and no snow there's just not been much desire to go. Kinda makes me nervous that it doesn't bother me that much. |
