Dealerships and people trying to make a buck are truly off their rocker with some of the pricing. $25K premium is absolutely crazy and I'd find it hard to believe anyone is going to pay it.

Well on this car, they might have the wining hand. For example, next week all Facebook employees become millionaires. They would spend $80K on this car in a heartbeat. Not everyone is suffering you know

Yeah but I tell you the fact that they have not sold will only help them as spring and summer approach. High season for car sales. 4 cars in the ENTIRE country??? They will sell at asking price. SF BMW just sold a black one at $20K. This is silicon valley baby.$$$$$

If you are one of those people buying one of these cars at those kind of mark-up$, I want to recommend the ultimate Mod for you. Better than a tune, exhaust, intake, fmic or coilovers....and it's dealer installed!!!
It's called......wait for it....... GAP INSURANCE |

remember 4 cars isn't a lot. thats why their asking so much. They will get near their asking depending on their market. Yeah the bmw dealership in middle of idaho might not get a $15k+ markup but in FL, NY, and CA they def. will |

If I didn't do this for a living I might actually agree with you. However, I do so I don't. Take BMW FS for example. A beacon score of 720+ on any of the three bureaus generates a Super Elite credit rating. That qualifies you for 130% of retail value. Do the math. We do this all day long, althought it is usually done to absorb negative trade equity, mathematically the mark-up would be identical to the deal (loan) structure and hence to the bank.

The only people who would buy a car with that much markup have too much money and too little brains. I'd rather get a Boss 302 for the track and weekends and a GTI, MS3 or even a Mini for the commute. Keep the nice car nice and still have a fun car to get you around. No badge is worth $25k markup.

so that's my listing you're referencing... It's not selling for 75k, it's selling for 60. The car has over $3000 worth of extras and I'm including a set of 19" moda rims with tires...and the tires you ask? dunlop 3d sports. It's brilliant how ignorant and quick to assume gentlemen (and i use the term loosely) such as yourselves have such an opinion with zero understanding of business, strategic pricing, or negotiating power. If an auto collector wants a car which is no longer available, and is of limited production, a 60k price tag is relatively generous considering individuals overseas who have paid more than 20k in taxes just to pay msrp. I'm extremely busy this week, but I'd be more than happy to give a lecture, or workshop for that matter, on market value and strategic pricing with respect to luxury items and their importance to upper society.

Oh and if you work for bmw, you know how much you guys sell GAP for. Ive been quoted around $1700. You know how much the credit unions charge? $100-$180. Insurance Companies? $5-$8/month depending on the company. So your recommendation about "dealer installed" Gap insurance sucks. |

Yes sketchy banks and shit high rates will. Financial savvy people won't be buying a $55k car + $20k markup and than deal with a crazy stupid loan. Oh and i deem BMW FS as a shitty option. Credit unions are the best right now and most of them won't go over 120%.
