Thoughts on Yokohama S Drives?

I've ordered a set of 19" Alufelgen SF-71's and I'm looking for tires. I'm a bit limited on choices for fitment. I'm thinking about the Yokohama S drives. I'd like any feedback I can get.

What is your priority on tires? Performance / long lasting? If you want top performance but your fine with tires only lasting 5-10k then get Hankook R-S3's. If you want it the other end where performance is still good but they will last 10k+ then get Hankook V12's. V12's are on par with the S drives but cheaper.

I have had S drives before and they are OK tyres. Infact they quite decent for the price.

Check out the Michelin PSS, I also have them paired up with Alufelgen SF-71 gunmetal. I went with 225/30/19 and 255/35/19, no rubbing, stock suspension.

I ordered the same exact tires last night from Tirerack. I just bit the bullet and went for the best.

I'm very dissappointed with Hankook. I bought them based on feedback here.
-They are really hard.
-Make noise like I'm driving on a washboard
-Shed rubber like an old dog. The whole rear valance is covered in rubber

The Yoko S I've had before and prefer them over Hankook. They do get loud as they wear down.

I had the S4's and was dissapointed in them. as they really wore out quick in the back.

I might have to jump on the Yoko S and see how they do since finding Conti DW's for the rear on stock sizes is worse than the needle and a haystack story.....

I bought my 1er with a set of Yok S drives already on it. The previous owner stated they had about 7K miles on them. I have put another 5 on them since I got the car. They have performed excellent, but are getting fairly loud at lower speeds (less than 20mph). Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with them.

I've decided to just go for some Michelin PSS's. I figured if I got the S drives I'd regret not getting the Michelin's which I've heard nothing but good things about such as ride, being pretty quiet and lasting longer than most tires. Thanks for the input!

I went from s drives to hankooks. The s drives were quieter and slightly comfier, but when i got on it felt unstable and lacked grippy-ness but the hankooks had no such issues. Sorry for the bad english/ typing on my iphone

I had the sDrives and they were fairly noisy and the grip was mediocre. They feel a little better than the hankooks to me grip wise.

What is your price range?

edit: I prefer the sumitomo HTR Z3 over both and they're about the same price.
