Wow... first drive
Hey guys... Been posting here for a bit even before the deal for my new (to me) '07 Z4MC went through.
The car is an absolute dream to drive and I can't say how much I love the feel of it compared to my recently sold '07 335i. Every video I have ever watched does this car absolutely no justice whatsoever. I want to do an RPi exhaust, coilovers, bushings, etc.. I already bought a set of 18x9.5/18x10.5 TE-37s too. Having said all that, I am actually quite satisfied driving the car in stock form. Figured I'd just take the time to introduce myself formally! I figure I may even have one of maybe 2 or 3 Z4MC's in the city! Could be the only one actually.. I have some connections at the bimmer store here, so I'll found out eventually. Never seen one here before, and I remember lusting after Z3Ms back in the day. I'm in a position in the car biz now that I could afford (this word is used subjectively ) to finally get the ///M car I've always wanted, and arguably the most beautiful and unique BMW built in recent times. I figured I'd get some hell from my old man seeing as I bought the 335i in June 2011.... but he loves it so much he's told me already that he intends to purchase it as soon as possible from me lol! So I may just sell it to him and at least that way it will stay in the family and I'll get to drive it whenever I want At that point, I'll probably just pick up an E46M to modify and won't feel quite so bad rolling the fenders.. teehee. Anyway, happy to be aboard! In some ways, it's unfortunate that the community is so small, but given there are only 1,815 cars in North America total, I think we're doing pretty well here. Cheers! Oh, and the car is Monaco Blue so is the rarest of them all! Canadian car, no TPMS (yay), black leather, no nav. Pretty much the way I wanted it. It's so much quicker than my 335i it's not even funny; and that car was no slouch as I'm sure many of you are aware. |

very cool. What color are your volks? On blue, a dark color would look great. You can fit some FAT tires on the 10.5 rears with some fender work (305 and some 315s)

315's are overkill and heavy for a stock motor z4m.
Congrats on the new M! Post up some pics

Congrats! Its true about the cars feel. Sitting almost over the rear wheels like we do, with the long hood up front. Beats any sedan or 2+2 Imo for sure. Enjoy...

Hey, congratulations! Enjoy--quite a difference from the 335 eh?
I'd second dubsesd--going past 275 rear is overkill. It's just extra weight that's going to slow the car down; from your post I think you appreciate quickness! |

Yup.. might even go 265/35/18 in the rear to help it fit without a roll.. anyone else have a 10.5 +22 in the rear with this setup? How much camber needed to get by without a roll?

Are you sure you don't want to swap for my 2 rears? I'm running 265/35/18 Bridgestone RE-11s on probably the same condition Volk te-37s. BUT size is 18x9 et 40 (running with a 20mm spacer making it et 20)
I think 265 on 10.5 wide would stretch the tire a bit, and might hurt handling.

Nekky,
I am truly envious because I bought a 08 loaded e92 and I do truly like it (Cobb Tuned too) and was curious how you say the z4m is faster? Also, I would certainly appreciate if you could list some highlights between both cars. Thanks! Chris |
