Pricing a 2011 135i DCT+Navi
I found a 2011 135i DCT+Navi+excutive package+M package (Not a 1M), after inspecting it and everything I didnt find any issues except a few scratches on the back seat that looks like it was by a dog or cat. I cant pull the trigger on this and hoping someone could throw in their opinion as if they were buying the car and what they would do. Here it is in detail.
2011 135i with 3000km (yes, just 3000km). The vehicle was one of many that was vandalised on BMW Toronto lot, the owner said all the windows/glass were smashed, nothing under the hood was touched. The car was purchased through insurance because dealer cant sell cars with broken glass as "New" cars so now it has a salvage title and structural inspection has been done. Should I consider in purchasing the vehicle or not? I'm planning on keeping it for 2 years or so and then switch for another car (possibly M3). Pros- -2011 with only 3000km -Warranty still works (Verified with BMW) -pretty much all the package allowed Cons- -Salvage title -Insurance company will ONLY cover liability only coverage. (1 way insurance) How much would you pay for a car like this? Appreciate for your input.

inf& inspect
is there "proof" that it was just broken windows?
talk to YOUR insurance company about this situation hopefully another "car guy" 1 series owner here could look at it carefully since its salvage, its value will always be reduced but if you get it at a good price, its still OK. Ask your insurance company for black book value, then deduct at least $5000. If all checks out, I would go for it |

Yes, he has before and after pictures from the incident on the lot, he got it from the insurance company with all the owner's manual and etc. Everything has been fixed up though, if he didnt tell me it's been salvaged/rebuilt, you would never know. I'll be the 1st owner of the vehicle.

Maybe $15k - you have to be willing to throw that out the window if insurance won't cover the cost of the car if its totaled. Otherwise I'd pass...too much of a risk.

I was under the impression a salvage title meant the car had damage equal or great than 75% of car. Broken windows wouldn't account for the car being a salvage title...Is that not the case in Canada? I know it is the case in some US states...
Unless it's VERY cheap it isn't worth the risk...Not only that, it's cheap for you, it'll be cheaper for the next guy...You might be stuck with it once you buy it. |

True, I've thought about it over and over again, decided to spend 75k on a 2011 E90 M3. Atleast this will be covered for full coverage, the 135i is too much of a risk...
Thanks for your help guys. Cheers.
