Does this break into three sections? It looks like there are clamps just in front of the first resonators.

It does. Makes install/removal a little easier.

Sound is so subjective it's hard to give feedback. I'm pretty sure there are youtube videos of this x-pipe with a stock rear.

I can tell you that it doesn't drone, by my standard is fairly quiet (ymmv), and sounds pretty good
