Question Wheels I can borrow?

Yes wheels. I am planning to have my wheels custom powder coated soon but need a set of wheels for a few days. Willing to pay cash for the favor. My daily commute is 15miles round trip so they will be used minimally. Would appreciate it! BTW, I'm in Nor Cal.

also from experience make sure the offset of the wheels you are borrowing is correct or they wont fit our car
good luck with the powdercoat job!

nice! and put up pictures of the gray wheels when you're done. what made you go with powder coat? does your painter also do anything with cilajet? if so, have them put a coat on before mounting them...you will be SO happy you did. it really helps cut the grim (practically sprays off the wheel) and lasts a while.

i noticed that my wheels had a LOT less damage from road grim and brake dust AFTER the paint job. for some reason the paint bmw uses for these wheels just doesn't impress me. it doesn't hold up very well at all!

The guy I'm planning on doing the PC specializes in really high end cars for a few dealerships. Ferrari and Lamborghini, Land Rover, lots pf P-cars. The PC is just so durable and the finish is just glass-like perfect compared to paint. He strips them down to metal prior to coating.

I do believe the BMW wheels are powder coated from the factory though...

Yup. Any wheels off an 1M/M3 or winter setup will do!

How much is that setting you back? The places in town I looked at are about $200-250/wheel.

Whatever you do, don't cheap out(places promising $50/wheel), but most importantly make sure they are doing it right so if you do pay $200/wheel at least you're getting your moneys worth. The place I'm taking it to wants to see just the wheels, no tires, no TPS, and they will strip them completely and powder coat for $150/wheel (assuming you choose one of the thousands of standard colors). Since I am going for a match of a specific Ferrari color that needs to be matched with the mirror caps at a lab offsite, it's an extra $100/wheel to get the custom powder made. Hope this helps...
