Anyone else already passed - or knows of a legit 1M that passed - the 25K miles mark (± 40K kms) ? (faked mileage of 1M scam sales do not count, of course).

Mine is closing in on 10K kms.

ohh these threads are always fun.

You should also post any issues that youve had so far.

It would make a decent metric of comparison for higher mileage issues for you guys.
Also im curious to see if the 1Ms will suffer from a similar number of problems that early 135s had.

But in some way, the 1M is actually the love child of a fling between the 2010/2011 135i, the Z4 sDrive35is and the M3, so it should rather have 'granny diseases' than 'childhood diseases'. Now resist to counter this one, BrokenVert.

But interesting point to add: any niggles and gremlins on high mileage 1M's ?

Maybe Autocar experienced something during their so-called "1M Long Term Test" (except for "Freude am Fahren") ?

i think bmw was well aware of the known issues related to the N54 before approving this engine for the 1M . so my guess is they didn't drop that engine in the 1M without resolving the known issues first ...

17,900 (4,900 of which was put on last week)and going strong.

Other than replacing the stock charge pipe -- which was popping off on track -- no issues whatsoever.

Im not talking about issues with the N54, im talking about potential shortfalls in mating the E82 with what are essentially the chassis components from the M3.

counter a joke? ok ill give it a shot. Ive never been good at resisting temptation

Counter joke - Its more of a Frankenstein's monster than having childhood or granny dieseases.
Its an amalgamation of two dying platforms and one middle aged one. So id be curious to see if the stiching holds all the pieces together properly

Balls in your court Artemis

But in all seriousness I do see the point. But all cars have teething issues. Im just curious as to what the 1Ms are is all

Well Evo did not have any issues other than abused and weakened brakes and a single fuel tank level reader fault which needed to be fixed by the Service Station. Catchpole even says that in Evo they were about to believe that they could do anything with the car and it wouldn't break! He also wanted to buy the car afterwards but couldn't afford. The car was sold close to its new price to somebody when they gave it back.

Autocar doesn't mention any problems that I am aware of.

Edit: Sorry, Autocar reported a power seat memory loss that they call a minor electronic glitch, not that owners with manual seats, like me, should worry!

Gifted with the right genes, we may reasonably trust that - also in the long run - the 1M will live up to the high expectations. It will respect its heritage.

Pretty sure it's still happening:

Wastegate rattle/turbo bank 1-3 replaced on a 1M:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...highlight=hpfp

HPFP replaced on a 1M:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...highlight=hpfp

There's a few other threads for startup hesitation and HPFP "issues," but the OPs don't follow up with any more info. Just search HPFP in the 1M forums.

IMO this isn't nearly as bad as those of us (including myself) who bought into the N54 in 2008. According to the CarFax on my now traded-in car, I made 27 dealership visits for various issues in three years and all under 50k miles.

Good luck! Love the 1M and hope to own an N54 again someday. When it worked properly, it was an absolute joy to drive.

My car delivery took place on a Friday. I left the dealership saying: "See you next week for the first service". Clocked 2000 km during the weekend, so 3 days. Within a week after delivery got the 2000kms/1200mls service.
