Vibration in the trunk, any experience?

Recently installed the Eisenmann Race system combined with a Flash upgrade.

The drone is a widely known phenomenon that occurs on the 1M (and I know theres a big thread about this already), however - I haven't heard of anyone having that problem while running Eisenmann. The drone is now much more extensive and is causing vibration in the trunk area - resulting in an incredibly annoying sound. It sounds like a rattlesnake in the trunk, and I have checked - there's no rattlesnake.

Questions:

* How many of you running aftermarket exhausts have drone issues?
* How (if) have you solved this problem?
* Might it disappear after some run-in?
* Have any of you experienced this rattle in the trunk - if so, what's it from?

Maybe your exhaust is touching the body in some way. Check those X-links for clearence issues. Does this rattle snake noise happen under load? Or just cruising around at speed?

Only under load, perhaps a little when cruising. Will revisit the shop tomorrow to have it checked

I believe that Metak has the Eisenmann system. He seemed to be very happy with it.

It is common for severe drone to cause rattles and vibrations in your trunk. Sometimes it subsides and sometimes it doesn't. I had a RPI exhaust on my 550i and my truck rattled for a few weeks and then it went away. I have no idea what was vibrating. Could you possible try to line your trunk with Dynamat. I believe there is an old thread where a member tried this.

If you're trying to eliminate THE DRONE I wouldn't waste your time or money on Dynamat or Second Skin Damplifier (what I used). I couldn't perceive any improvement with the stock exhaust. Even lined the trunk with towels with no effect.
Severe rattling is probably something else like body/exhaust interference.

But it only occurs within certain RPMs - that tells me the exhaust isnt catching the body anywhere...
