Dunlop Dirrezza vs Michelin PSS

I put a set of Dunlop Dirrezza's on my car for street use and light autocross. I really like the grip, and at first they were very quiet. But now that they are getting worn down, the noise has increased considerably. I'm hoping it won't continue to get worse.

For replacement tires, is there anything at a similar grip level to the Star Spec's that will stay quite through the tread life? Maybe the Michelin PSS?

I wouldn't say you can compare an extreme summer tire to a max summer tire

I'd consider the re-11s.

The pss grip, but they are soft and roll over easily (observations from my m3)

PSS are a lot quieter than Star Specs in the first place, and they'll stay quiet, except at the limit they squeal like you're killing them compared to Star Specs' nice chirping kind of squeal.

PSS also have a nicer ride than Star Specs and they're awesome in rain. And they'll last much longer than Star Specs, probably twice as long doing street plus light autocross.

OTOH Star Specs have a firmer and more responsive feel especially at the limit, and they have better grip when they get hot on track, whereas PSS get greasy if they get hot enough.

Great info...looking forward to switching to the PSS' once my Star Specs run out of tread.

OP...I have not noticed the noise level increase with my Star Specs, but I dont track my car.

Gary,

Thanks for the info. The PSS look very interesting. I'm already running Star Specs on my dedicated AutoX wheels, so I'll likely switch to the PSS for the street wheels and keep using the Dunlop's for AutoX use.

Take a look at the RE-11 - equal to or better grip than the Dunlaps - I have a set on my daily driver - they are fantastic tires - amazing grip, smooth and quiet enough for me and daily driving. I would buy these tires again - no question at all. I have the performance suspension and the ride is very good.
