AFE or Injen

I need a few good opinions if possible.

I like to put a cold air intake on a 2011, 135.
I dont know the pro's and con's on both systems.

Anyone with good feed back would be appreciated.
thanks all.

Both are good but I like the sound of the Injen and I have not experienced heat soak. It good enough for this car ...

it's good enough for me.

I got the AFE went I first got my car, sold it about a year later when I went to a traditional DCI. I've moved back to a stock w/dropin now. I would go with INJEN hands down over AFE.

I was going aFe Stage 2 due to its enclosed design, but after learning that only the injen is CARB approved, I've deiced to switch my purchase up to that. They'll probably sound similar and provide similar performance benefits, it mostly boils down to cost and aesthetics.

Air intake

Yes, I know that bms make one.
Similar to afe but with out a box.

What I,m trying to understand is.
Is there advantage to have a full alumi pipe like injen versus the afe/is own box and bms which is only a piece of plasting using the same plastic box.

Thanks

It's doubtful you'll be able to notice a difference with just an intake on the car.

We have certainly received positive results with the Injen intake on the Evolution Racewerks 135i. With that being said, the discrepancies of gains between intakes will be minimal at best. Our testing has shown that a DCI has better flow than the stock airbox, even at higher speeds. For what it's worth, the Injen intake hasn't given me any reason not to recommend it, though.

Yea pretty much...at least HP wise.

Hyper - Stett is apparently making a N55 CAI for your car...when it comes out I don't know. But here's a link to their N54 intake. Give you another option in the long run if you're not trying to buy right this second...

BMS dyno tested them all and found on the N55 the Injen did the worst, while AFE and BMS did about the same. Gains are not huge either way but it's a nice inexpensive and easy to install mod.
