Anyone With Berk Close To Houston?

I am thinking about getting the Berk Full Race or Full Street. I just can't decide from videos. I was hoping that i could meet up with some one in Houston or Spring to check it out.

i've had both the berk race muffler and currently have berk street muffler and mids on mine now.

race is way too loud for a daily driver in my opinion. berk street is pretty loud, has an incredible sound, and is very affordable.

if you're ever in austin let me know, i've got AR catless downpipes as well and not sure it could sound any better.

I really want to hear the race exhaust so I decided to get that then I'll just get the street.

I would get new down pipes and the street exhaust but I don't want to run into any issues with warranty. I might decide to do that later though.

I'll have to see. I might be going up there some time soon.

I just got the berk race, i posted a video in the exhaust clips sticky.

With stock dp and mids and just the race axle back. I dont think it is too loud, but I may have a higher than average tolerance. It is pretty loud on cold start but quiets down quickly. At idle and cruising speed I cannot hear it at all in the cabin, but when I get on the gas I can instantly hear it and at WOT it gets pretty loud.

I would recommend it, but if you watch my video I posted, there is a odd sound there at the end, sounds like a whistle. It cant be heard in the car but from behind it, it is very loud.

I love how it sounds! I am changing my mid pipes too though so maybe mine will be louder. I hope mine will sound that good haha.

I believe that is the old french horn sound which Berk had a problem with regarding their previous design. Although you have a different axle back.

I think they just added a balancing tube to it.

I just got mine, it would be a shame if it wasn't the most recent design

I have the berk race with the balancing tube. While nowhere near as bad a the videos I've seen of the axel back without the balancing tube, it still makes some weird sounds at some times. Normally just sounds sick loud though so im happy with it. This is with ar catless dp and the Berk mids. Guy told me the other day that my exhaust sounded like sex...

Haha that's awesome. That's like exactly what I want on this car.

I should get my axel back on Wednesday.
Berk didn't have any mid pipes in stock so they said that they will send them to me when they get some more.

How about drone at like 70-80mph? I'm sure it wont be any more than my old Ram with dumped flowmasters and no back insulation in the cab. Lol

I have bms DCI, n55 mid pipe, and berk race axle back. While loud I don't think it's too loud and it's not the loudest car I've driven. I used to have a 06 evo with a 3" inner diameter buschur racing TBE and that was loud.

With the berk race there is some drone on the freeway around 80mph (2500-3000rpm) though really only noticeable going up hills. It's pretty tame cruising around town, but if you mash the pedal expect some noise. I would say though whatever mid pipe you get I highly recommend a resonator of some sort.

All loud exhaust systems have drone...just depends on how much you can tolerate
BTW OP...I might have a part-out in a month or so and I have AR catted DPs (passed IL emissions), Berk resonated mids, and Berk street performance axle back (ceramic coated). My family thinks its too loud but I dont

Well I have had a truck with lots of drone. It was very hard to talk on the phone. So I don't think this will be too bad for me.

I don't think I should get change my dp if I will be using a race exhaust. But will that dp throw any codes?

I have no issue talking on the phone while crusin on the freeway. I do still have my stock dps though.

If you go to catless downpipes you will need a 02 sim or you will have CEL.

Perfect. As long as I can use my hands free I will be fine with the drone.

Well what about the AR ones? I just don't want to have any problems with the dealer.

I have a 2009 N54. I got the axle bak race exhaust from Berk a few weeks ago. Sounds spectacular! I here a slight drone around 70 or so but it's not something that makes a difference. In the cabin I can still talk on my phone hands free and it doesn't make a difference. WOT sounds awesome! Cold start is louder but it's not loud enough to wake my 4 year old daughter up at 6 in the morning. And my car sits right under her window when I start it up. I also have the injen intake and JB4 stage 3 on her. When those turbos get up to 13 psi boost it has a great sound mixed in through the exhaust. I heard people say it was too loud but to me it sounds great. Very aggressive, tolerable tone. When you get rid of a muffler you can't expect it to stay quiet. Berk also has good customer service as well. Sent them an e-mail and they got back to me within hours. I'm super glad I went with them. Affordable and looks fantastic as well. Tips look great in comparison to some others I've seen. Definitely would recommend Berk race axle back if you want that aggressive sound with a great look.
