N54 Water pump

There seems to be an issue with the water pump and thermostat on a lot of late model BMW engines fitted with electric water pumps.
Here are some pictures of one we pulled off a local 335.

Has N54 got the same water pump unit as the N55?

Interesting. Apparently a new water pump was released from March this year - Part #11517632426.

New pump and t/stat look good. Do not get a quote on a pump from BMW they wanted $1900.00 for pump only. Thanks Peter and Stuart from BMR for getting the parts for me and fitting. Hopping no more issues after this so I can hit the1/4 mile soon.

Very common to have a pump failure, make sure you run the full venting and bleed procedure through the scan tool Pete.....very important
