Warranty Question... Confused!

I read the service and warranty book, and I am very confused as to what it's actually covered by BMW. Can anyone explain?

Basically everything for 4 years or 50k miles, whichever comes first. Some dealers are more friendly and will do things like topping off oil etc but then some will charge for a quart of oil.

You having an issue?

Thanks. No issues at all. I was offered an extended warranty through my military sales program, so I'm just trying to figure out the details.

The book says warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship... but if something breaks down, like let's say, DCT, is that considered a defect? I guess the wording confuses me.

All US cars are covered fully for the 4 yr/50k period. That includes all mechanical, electrical etc. Yes DCT is covered for that period. If you are approaching 50k (clearly plenty of time on the 4yr part!), and plan on keeping the car, yes get the extended warranty. But read the fine print carefully on the extended warranty to be SURE what is covered...

Only things not covered would be normal wear and tear type things like the tires.

If you by chance you are with USAA, they offer a pretty good extended warranty. Or so I've heard. Have not looked into personally but that time will come for me...

My Military Sales representative has a extended warranty program through
INDS StarAuto.. apparently they have some sort of deal through them to get cheaper extended warranty. Different plans. There is a bumper to bumper plan that covers everything "except a short list of exclusions". 7 years, 100k, for $4,400.

How much is USAA? I only have around 1280 miles on mine, so I haven't really looked into alternatives yet.

Sorry, don't know. I have more than 2 years of warranty and plenty to miles left so I have not done much research on warranties...
