Evolve is on the 1M and it's a cliché but honestly the car should have been delivered this way. It's just better in every sense.

I'm trying to avoid the temptation to look at stages 2 & 3 now, I've never been good at resisting tho!

My FMIC & Exhaust are on the way to Sydney. I'll have them installed by end of the month, in case you want to wait and see the difference/numbers with an FMIC.

EDIT: IanF just saw you order an FMIC also, nice! Would be good to compare FMIC before installs and also once they both are on the car.

IMO if you are running a tune in a 1M, then it is a must-add option to to eliminate chances of knocking & inevitable heat soak...plus allowing tune to release more power.

My FMIC criteria was no cutting, under $1k, well made components and finish, good research and data available. I love the Forge IC, but $1300! The ETS unit has about the best performance numbers out there for the N54. The Wagner IC was another option, but looks like a cheap/budget copy of Helix and no one knows if it is any good.

Funny how i remember the same criteria for a fmic 'no cutting' then after a while i started to think fark it if you need to cut then cut away. mind you imho all the fmic upgrades are the same with little to no discernable difference in performance, shit look at the size of the little toys and then look at a real IC on some other cars, there isnt a whole lot you can do in the space provided unfortunately.

Facts with the ETS unit are:
- 15 deg lower temps
- reduced knock
- better flow and new less restrictive piping
- 20 HP with a tune
- no heat-soak

I read all the guff and thought whoa man this is x times better and all but in reality i dont think it matters. my only comment would be before you put it on get a couple of meth bungs welded onto the hot side as per Justins post. I would but couldn't be arsed to take it off and put it back on.

I think of it in the same light as the CP (thats an ER) more of a safety feature than a performance mod

I think the whole 'cutting' thing scares a lot of people off.

To fit an ER intercooler you honestly trim 1cm of redundant plastic that you wouldn't even know was there or not once removed. It's all behind the front bumper anyway...

It's not like someone else's intercooler on here that had to have the front bumper sliced and diced to fit the bohemoth shroud that came with it.
