How Low can you Go?
I had to have my Z4MC towed last week and the flatbed truck rubbed the lower portion of the spoiler trying to get the car on the truck. He also rubbed the rear mufflers ever so slightly.eeded I cant imagine lowering the front another inch with the Mstache. I have been wondering about installing air shocks to I could raise and lower the car when needed. Any opinions on that?

Alot of high end sport/supercars have that as an oem option. I've even seen it on a gt3rs. Why did your car get towed?

Flat tire and the BMW fix-a-flat didn't work. It just oozed out the hole. From now on I will keep a plug kit in the car. I didn't realize that fix-a-flat will ruin the interior of the tire to the point that it can't patched!

I have an Indy shop I am going to talk to about air shocks. That way I can raise the car when needed and lower it on the road and car shows for a better show. I don't know what kind of $$$ we are talking about but we shall see

I considered it for a while, but decided against it because it adds weight and complexity (another point of failure).
However, there are some systems that will both make it perform better and be more compliant, so it can be a win win, check out Car and Driver's review of a system on an M3: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ension-feature

I've also scraped the bottom of my car when putting it on a trailer. You CAN go low AND not scrape when loading the car, it just takes careful placement of wood boards in order to decrease the sharpness of the incline. Most good tow truckers can put a car on with no issues. Sometimes you have to move a foot at a time, while constantly putting new wood boards under the tire.
The other option is to remove the front bumper to load the car. Pretty quick process actually

Actually I was thinking about getting 2 quarter inch aluminum ramps that I can store under the carpet in the back of the coupe about 2.5 feet long and about 8 inches wide.
