Mighty fine video there... Love the sound. Although I was a bit turned off on the M3 with the latest car and driver magazine -- where the published the fuel economy as **13 MPG** EPA city. ACK! I was annoyed at my s4 (also a v8) with 17! I get 24+ on my 335...
The problem isn't the cost of gas, its the fact they don't make the tanks bigger from the regular 3-series (or a4 for audi) and you need to go to the freakin gas station constantly. Anyways... going off topic. Thanks for the link. -Scott |

Good point. I would think the reason is that it would throw off the near 50-50 weight distribution, but with the added weight of the v-8, it makes sense that they should have put in a larger tank.

I saw one on the road on Tuesday.
Was driving north from Munich on A9--it was all black (including the rims). The badges were taped over so I'm sure it was a test-car. I kept up to it till 130 MPH and that's when the limiter kicked in.
When I saw it I was like "wow the new m3!" My GF asked me how I knew since there was no badges on it. I just laughed at her and said "cuz I know." |

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that the new M3 will probably be around 10-12 city in real world driving.

Indeed I do... I live in Phoenix, AZ USA -- where "city" driving is pretty open and high speed, but I get 24 to 25 MPG (24.7 the last tank) driving to/from work and around town in my 335i. I drive just myself, and use the cruise lots -- and rarely hammer it. Driving the exact same way in my S4 led to 17MPG tanks. If I can only get 13 out of an M3, that means I'll have to fill up every 3 days! Yuck! _Scott |
