No tune???? You shouldn't see significant if any gains from FBO without a real tune.

Let me make it clear the car has had a tune for three years, currently there is no tune in though. Im also going to say I dog the car regularly lol.... At one point it was at 420hp with meth daily driver. I don't see slipping if I put it third or forth low RPM and WOT so im not confident that the clutch is worn or not. I didnt know that most 1/4 mile times that used 2nd gear launch where in autos lol... Guess I wont be doing that again <,<

Lol yea….2nd gear launches on 6MT are going to fry your clutch. Is there a reason why you took the tune off? TBH if I wasn’t running a tune, I don’t think I’d power mod my car at all outside of maybe an upgraded intercooler. (relatively speaking) all that money for 30 or so whp?

I had a JB3, JB4G4 and G5 and my turbos waste gate got so serious that I had boost leak, and finally got new turbos recently. I took my JB4 out and sold it, and eventually will get a cobb tune, costume map, and e85. |

I just replaced my 135i stock clutch with an ACT Stage 2+ clutch. Retained the stock dual mass flywheel. I am 150 miles into the 500 mile break-in period. So far:
-Clutch pedal effort is almost identical to stock -Engagement point is slighty (and I mean very slighty) closer to the floor -Engagement period (length) is slightly quicker than stock. Feels good so far. |

I replaced mine with Spec stage 3+ , my car is a FBO ~426whp and 476 torque, ~2,000 miles and so far so good!
A friend also replaced with Spec stage 3+ and his car running on NOS(~521whp and 561 torque) and it is working great.

I have owned cars with manual transmission since 1985. Last 3 were Bimmers.. '91 318is, '02 325Ci and 135i.
I don't beat the clutch and my normal wear has been around 100,000 - 110,000 miles. |

I 've owned a couple cars where a 2nd gear launch in a MT was required to put any sort of power down, and it would light the tires a bit and then pull without slip. FWIW, I'm a great MT driver and my clutches last the lifespan of the cars I have. That said: I've also attempted a 2nd gear launch in my 6MT 135i just messing around with different launch styles and ZWOOOOM went the rpms; backing off as soon as possible, and still a day of stanky clutch smell. Never again. Lol.
