I can 'rent' anyone's 18 inch rim -e9x?
Hi,
I'm taking a 2 1/2 week roadtrip from NYC to LA and back in my e93 M3 starting in early July and was hoping to see if anyone had a spare 18 inch front rim + tire (maybe you have a spare winter?) for me to borrow as we have no full size spare in our cars. I don't want the risk of having an issue on the trip and not being near a BMW dealer or any tire dealer than can get + mount a 19inch tire. Also given the distance i would also feel more comfortable with a full size spare not the space saver option I have seen on the forum. I would provide some amount of payment to'rent' your wheel along with a deposit in the off case I need to use it for a few miles till I get to a service center to swap on a new tire to my rim. I am based in NYC but happy to travel to pick it up. Thanks in advance for the help. Peter |

If something happens to the rear i would think i would be ok since I'm pretty sure people run a square setup for winters so it shouldn't be a problem putting a narrow say 225 width on the back, maybe I need a spacer?

I'm not sure if the front 18 will fit on the rear properly, but I suppose if you don't need a spacer, then this plan is reasonable, but your rears will mismatch.

Square setup could work with spacers I suppose as mentioned above. The difference in offsets would need to be evaluated. The bigger issue would be with mis-matched tire widths in the rear. This would cause a problem with the rear diff. if I'm not mistaken.
