I think that's an image that Jag is really trying to change, much like Cadillac in the US. If you look at other reviews of the car, it truly is world class, and for the price it is a performance bargain. Will definitely be on my list as a possible next car after the M3.

List so far:

AM Vantage
991S
R8
M6
Jag F V8

I like them and all, not sure I love them. For a few reasons
- Performance doesn't quite seem on par with cars in this category. Can I even push these cars to the limit? No. But if I'm paying 100k, it needs to be excellent to perfect.
- Jags aren't known to be the most reliable things out there. The new ones included
- Jags just do not hold their values at all.

So if you gave the keys to me, then sure why not. I just don't think I'd part with 100k for one.

Great car, but not at $100k. Maybe $75k would have done the trick.

So what premium level car with this kind of performance can you get for $75k?

Actually the base model starts at like $60k with 340hp.

Compared to a comparably equipped 991S or Aston or Audi R8, it is a bargain. It is even $20k less than an M6

My problem is the look - it's a good looking car and well proportioned, but something about reminds me of a 370z or a G-coupe. The design is nice, but it looks a little down market for a $100k car.

Probably will be a great road car and a not so great track car but if I were buying one it would be as a road car,

Too many heavy hitters at that price point...would definitely have a 991 S before the jag

I think they look the part. Have seen a few in person at the local Jag dealer. Good looking car. The $100K price tag is too much for a roadster, though it does provide some nice hp.

I think it looks great, but for that kind of money, 991 base or 991S hits all those criteria and does them better.

Car is beautiful, maybe a bit for an older generation, but still a beautiful car. Video is long, repetitive and boring!

The base F-type is about 60k. A comparably equipped base 991 is over 80k. Both are about 350hp. The price for a loaded F type V8 S prices out at $106k and that is with every conceivable option. A comparably equipped 991S is almost $140k and it is still down almost 100hp on the Jag. So maybe the 991 is a little sharper and more focused of a performance car, but not by much, and the extra cost is significant.

I think it's sexy. If I had the money I think it would make an excellent weekend car. If I was older I could potentially DD it

I have an XKR and love it. It looks like the 8 speed quick shift tranny will be a better option, one thing I miss about the DCT. Love the styling, HP, torque and exhaust note And by the way, I'm not an old man driving a Jag.

I knew it was too much to hope for, but after this long a gestation period, I was still keeping my fingers crossed for something as ground-breaking, style-wise, as the initial E-Type.

Nope. It's a little busy looking as per the current trend (think new Vette), and doesn't set itself apart.

Too bad.

Looks as if it'll maintain the Jag tradition of being a good performer at each of its price points, though. Maybe not as good in that sense as the Vette, but still good.

Looks awesome! But, for 100,000 you can buy a lot of cool cars.

Did you see how big that passenger "oh shit handle" was on the console!
