Which Fuses are Part of Security System?

I'm having the same exact issue described here:

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=616547

I've replaced the ignition switch but still having the key chime issue so I think it may be one of the fuses. Does anyone know which fuses I should be looking for?

"EWS toroidal coil" is the widget you're looking to fix.
I just confirmed that simply holding the key next to the ignition switch starts the beeping.
I suspected this when I couldn't find a "key is inserted but not turned" set of contacts on the ignition switch.
I think it's the same thing that charges the key battery and interrogates the fob.
It also seems to be able to tell the difference between a key and a screwdriver, so that rules out some rogue piece of metal setting it off, but just in case, you don't have a column mounted boost gauge or anything, right?
Wish I would have found this sooner. I could have stopped you from buying a new switch.

It looks like L1 is inside the trim around the lock. When you were in there replacing the switch, did you notice another connector to the trim around the lock (X1764)?

Very helpful, I'll try fuses first because its easiest. Then look at the trim around the lock, didn't notice anything around there at the time but then again wasn't looking for anything neither. Btw if the coil is the issue, what part would I replace because I doubt you can replace that one component?

Not entirely sure. It might be part of the lower trim panel, 32316758156.
Not entirely sure that it's the part that's broke, either. Just something associated with that circuit.
Have you checked it with DIS to see if that module's reporting any failure?

Update:
I just looked at my car and I seriously doubt it's part of the lower trim panel.
It sits over the end of the lock cylinder and doesn't even touch the trim.
I can't find it on RealOEM.
