Lights don't go automatically on/off?
Just got the car (2005 Z4 2.5) back from having some repairs done at the BMW stealership. Had a leaking crank case valve and a leaking oil pan. Anyway, I noted that my lights don't go on automatically any more when it gets dark out. That is, with the lighting control knob on "0," the headlights and dash lights don't automatically go on when the day passes into night. In order for the nightlights to go on, I have to manually turn the knob to the lights on setting (all the way to the right).
I doubt that this was stealership induced while doing the repair...but could it be? Assuming it wasn't, I would rather go to my indy than BMW ($99/hr vs $170/hr), but before doing so, I was wondering if anyone would have some suggestions on what I could check and/or what the cause could be. Thanks. |

I could be wrong but when on 0, they are not supposed to go on at all. in my 07 car, if you put the knob on A, they start doing things automatically.
