With 51K on the clock I wouldn't call it a steal. Seems about right to me.

Probably accident history. There is no excuse for a dealer not to include a free carfax report on the autotrader unless there is something to hide. Too good to be true.

Dealer probably purchased at auction for wholesale (~$23k). Selling for $26k will net him $3k profit, minus advertising/prep, etc.

Price is about right. Most vehicles you see out there for similar mileage don't fetch more than this. View Ebay ended listings to see what folks are paying for these.

that front bumper looks to have been repainted and not matching perfectly imo...even from different angles, but I may be wrong...just check visible molding work once you look inside the hood

Ask dealer for carfax and/or other reports. If that looks good, get a ppi from a good Indy shop.

In my experience, a lot of dealers don't have the ability to sell these cars for a lot because they're such a specialty item. They eventually drop it to just above what they can get at auction. Carfax will tell you how long they've had it, which often translates to how willing they are to go even lower. Also might be harder to sell in winter (roadsters definitely are, but I'd think coupes could be a little), so dealers get antsy this time of year on this type of car. A good price can quickly become a great price...

i contacted them (as im in the market) and they claim a clean carfax. was op that found the car in the market as well? im a patient man looking for a good deal and it does have higher miles then ive looking at previously...don't want to snipe the car out from under you if you were seriously looking at it.

seems like a fair price, especially if the accident history is clean and PPI is ok.

used cars: cars priced at their market value point (not above!) sell quickly.

Agreed.

IT is right on with pricing. I say give them $23000 cash and walk.

This car has 3 owners and always been in WA. 1st owner had it for 3 years. 2nd owner drove it for another 2. Then 3rd owner had it for around 6 months. It has been for sale since April. No accident reported.

Y'all see the red one on eBay with less than 19k miles, looks absolutely mint - made it to $26.5k ish on bids (well below reserve). Wonder if it's just bad timing or if that's the market...

I don't know how much difference the season makes but I do know that with this being a 2nd car for many that if you live in any northern state there isn't much reason to buy it now instead of March/April unless it is a good deal. Same with selling it, if you are ready to get rid of it, some would rather sell it at a lower number now over storing it all (or most of) Winter and then selling it in the Spring. I think Fall is the worst time of year to sell a "weekend" car but don't know how much difference it makes.
