Does Your Performance Exhaust Have Dents?
My 135is is only 2 months old and I noticed my piping has dents by the control arm and differential. I spotted this the other day when I put the car on the lift when I swapped to my winter wheels. I don't see how these dents could be made by hitting a pothole since the diff is bolted down to the subframe and he piping can't have that much flex. Is this normal?
The flat spot on bottom right looks normal but the kink on left side by control arm does not Another dent by diff |

My Performance exhaust looks the same. Came that way out of the box from the dealership.

Mine has dents as well. I read a thread a few months ago saying that those dents are normal.

Thanks everyone for the confirmation although I still think the dents are unnecessary. I don't see why the control arm or diff would ever come in contact where they felt the need to put in these awkward kinks in the piping.

Gentlemen, those dam dents on your PE exhausts are the result of super German engineering to create the correct amount of back pressure.
......................jk... i made that up. BMW NA told me that those strategically located dents are perfectly normal to create ground clearance and for clearing the suspension components. Looks dam ugly to me but sounds so good.....

Sounds like a huge issue. I think you should ship the exhaust to me, and I'll ship my normal 128 exhaust to you...and I'll see if the dents are normal.
Warning: You will not get your exhaust back...ever |
