WOW there is so much room in the back!

“WOW there is so much room in the back!” is what I get from people who sit in the back seat of the little 135.
Sure it’s hard to get back there due to the car being a two door but when people get back there they are always impressed that there is quite a bit of head room and that the seats are comfortable! Bravo BMW! You guys did a heck of a good job there!
But how cool would it have been if the 135 were a 3 door!
(here is where the fan boys heads explode with words like rigidity and weight)

My 1er had more space in the rear than my civic sedan. It's just getting back there that's a bitch.

a 3 door like a veloster? or the hatch? because if it were a 3 door like the veloster that would've been just ugly. I wish we did get the hatch over here though

The two door thing is a good reason to tell your friends you can not take them with you.

Don't know if I agree with the post about the civic sedan being less spacious. I think if anything they're about the same or the 1 is a tiny bit smaller. In any case though... The 1er is more comfy.

I currently own both and sitting in both at normal seat positions, the rear seat of the civic is less spacious for sure.

Leg room wise

Sat in the back seat once, just to see what it was like. I thought the back seat was pretty nice.

Would be awesome if they made a 3dr version of the 5dr overseas. I would drop everything and get one today if that were the case.

Damnit BMW.

The back seat only has decent room if the person in the front is 5' tall and can move the seat waaaaay up.

Odd I find myself agreeing with the OP, but yes, I can easily sit behind myself without changing my driving position. As I've frequently said, I wish my car was a 5 door hatch for a myriad of reasons.

Maybe in a vert. Not all of us store our roof in the trunk.

Oh yeah the Vert has a super small rear seat!
Sure if you are over 6ft tall it won't work for you. But if you are on the short side, no problem!
Thank you BMW great rear seats

I really enjoy the fold down seats. I know the non-folding seats in my 3er made the car more rigid, but it really sucked for trying to carry things. I went to Ikea last week and got a bookshelf and it fit no problem.

I totally agree, I haven't had one person complain about rear leg space and I've had some pretty big people in the back. Also fit a 10.5 foot christmas tree in the car. Yup, in the car. Hindsight being 20/20 I'm really happy I didn't damage the interior and I wouldn't do it again it was such a PITA to detail afterwards. Did what I had to do though, that was an interesting night.

Only thing you cant fit inside are really big bulky items, my wife and I had trouble getting a rather large ottoman in the back seat, but I hauled 4 19" wheels and tires when I got my Alufelgens, with the wheels in the shipping boxes. Made it to the shop in one trip.

Love this little car.

Last time I checked my RX8 was considered a sedan with the four doors.

The fact that the rear seat is "passengerable" and the backs fold down sold me on my 1'er. But when I'm not in the mood for passengers I tell them its way too small back there...

I did blow someone's mind the other day when I folded down the rear seats and put a huge desk in the back.
