Keyless Unlock not working in cold
When my key fob gets below 15F the keyless opening does not work nor does the unlock button on the fob. I have to pull the physical key out of the fob and use it to unlock the door. The X5 will then start but sometimes fails to recognize the driver number and does not load radio presets, seat position, etc.
I assume the battery voltage in the fob drops as the temperature goes down but I would think BMW has enough business in cold climates to engineer it to work in cold weather. I have been putting the fob in the dash slot to charge it. The Acura and Infinity I had did not have this problem but they had non-rechargable button batteries in the fobs. Does anyone else have this problem or have I just got a bad fob?

Are you getting the 'Increased Battery Discharge' message when you start up the car?
If so, your battery is heavily discharged so Comfort Access is switched off.
