Jack Stands Without Ruining The Plastic Mounting Points
I was looking for a way to put the 1 series on jack stands for a long period of time this winter. Here's what I'm using in case anyone else needs to do the same:
4 - 5/8"-11 x 2-1/8" Coupling Nuts. These are from Home Depot, cost a bit over $2 a piece. Find them in the hardware section next to the threaded steel rods and piping. They fit nicely inside the plastic jack squares and with the help of some Velcro tape they'll stay in the jack points. Whole thing cost under $10.

Reverse logic is even worse, just the square blocks cost $31.95 each.

I cut squares of scrap 3/4 baltic birch plywood to fit the plastic pockets. Cost near zero. Other plywood would work, baltic birch is just nicer with no voids.

I just miss the older rubber pucks.
Or hell, the removable covers on the side skirts of my E36 where you could just insert a jack pad.

Thanks for the nut recommendation.
Im using 3/4 inch plywood in the jack points as well to prevent my jack stands from damaging the jack points. They indent slightly. I am going to pick up these nuts in case I have to keep the car on jack stands for an extended period of time. The burger jack pads are nice for a jack, but they would not be stable with my jack stands. |

Nor mine as well. You really need two different adapters.
