Long time fan, first time posting
Hello folks!
New to the club and would like to share my great new friend: 2008 135i! 54K miles. Paid 18 and a half. Previous car was a 1998 V6 Mustang that was not bad for a first car. It seems to have most of the options: Moonroof, iDrive, M Sport Pack, Heated seats (not sure if standard?), Manual Transmission. I only know Fords, using the term know loosely, so I am very excited for this new change. What do y'all think?! Last edited by Redonred1; 01-25-2014 at 10:56 PM.. |

Congratulations on your new ride, and welcome to the community! I hope you'll like the 135i. Just curious, what are your impressions on the differences between the 135i and your Mustang?

Had to drive 150 miles to check it out/purchase. GF called it a speeding bullet, but I think i like rocketship better! It's amazing! Still getting used stick but it's just amazing! Quote:
So while she wasn't the best, she was mine outright and was great, for a first car/college car. Few easy bolt ons, few times left on the side of the road. The fact that everything just works on this 1 makes me happy! The rest, well the rest just makes me giddy like a schoolgirl. |

Color looks great. There is a lot of potential for power increase if you ever are looking for that. Even more so in your N54 engine over the N55 in 2011+ 135i models.
Enjoy this little beast! Be careful with the "mod" bug , hard to resist when you own a car with a ton of potential...

I mean, they could be much worse. For wheels in that particular style (with the two-tone rivet design) they are actually pretty understated. I definitely fall in the "less is more" camp when it comes to mods. But you'll run into quite a few "more is more" people on these forums as well.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
Here are the obligatory more pics! The interior looks red in pictures but it's more of a burnt orange/red? Looks great though More potential on this engine? How so? I'm new to BMW's and while i did research here for a few months for things to look out for and over 1 information, I don't think I ever looked into the Mod part of things. |

Love the color combo. I don't think I've ever seen another in that combination. Rare indeed. Welcome aboard and enjoy your new 1er. You'll be modding it in no time.

Agree on the color combo. You have something that stands out. Although the 135i is an excellent platform out of the box , popular upgrades are suspension, non run flat tires, and engine tune...

Welcome aboard! Sedona Red is one of the best colors offered, has a different effect in all shades of light, definitely unique.

Speaking from experience, you are going to love that color. I park mine outside of my office window and stare at it all day.
And congratulations on getting one with the correct number of pedals. |

The more I look at it, the more I just keep wanting to look and admire it.
I couldn't tell but now that you mention it, it always looks different. I've had it 3 days and I still can't believe it's mine. Oddly enough, I have only driven a manual car a handful of times prior. Was going to Ireland and couldn't give up the chance to drive on the other side of the road. Hit up a buddy of mine and learned on an MR2. Two sessions, one hour each, that's it. Drove the rental for 1 full day in Dublin. Unsupervised, with the GF as nervous as I was. Man, that was the scariest, best driving experience I've ever had. Only a Fiesta but you gotta learn to walk before you can run. I can't imagine this beauty with an Automatic Transmission. To each their own obviously, but for me, it's just the icing on the cake. Thanks for the tip Rking117. Still learning! |
