Ouch!! Maybe a used same-color bumper on this forum might be cheaper? Good luck!!

Geez! Were you trying to shave your reflectors? I say Vorsteiner GTS3 or 5.

Minimum $600 for a good shop, maybe $800+ if it's particularly bad.

Thanks much guys. So is the consensus that the bumper needs to be replaced or can they repair the existing one?

I'd order a euro bumper from IND

Repairing it is possible, but getting that sharp edge around the headlamps is going to be tough. If they replace the bumper, it'll cost even more.

Get a new bumper from IND or some other source. The tabs are probably broken in this bumper. Repair probably wont look as good as just getting a replacement and having a reputable company spray it. Id plan around $1k-1.75k all in as long as there isnt any damage to that R/H Fender or light assembly.

IND: $1,673.00 painted euro bumper! (These guys are it!)

Thank you for the advice. Would insurance help cover the cost of the Euro Bumper?

If it costs less than an OEM estimate, I wouldnt see why not. If it costs more than the OEM estimate, then cover the difference and have a choice bumper! Shouldnt be much more if more at all... Good luck and watch out for that garage!

The Euro bumper is the way to go. I had my reflectors shaved last year and could not be happier .

Good luck on fixing your car, it will be alright!

Find a BMW certified body shop for the best paint match, you're looking at $700~$1000 for repair and respray..will cost more if the body shop cannot do the repair. Don't settle for a cheap body shop/lowest bidder, find your own quality shop if you are going through the insurance.

At $1600 for a new painted bumper from IND, it will be difficult to find a solid repair/respray option on the current bumper that offers better value.

Really good reminder for me to be careful when pulling into the garage... I always cut it as close as I can to the side to leave more room.

it will cost anywhere from 300-600 max that i would pay.

peoples quotes are insane.. but then again im from SOCAL and well known body shops usually charge around 600 here. so to the OP if you need your fender resprayed add additional 300 to the 600...

Update

Certified shop quoted me $1900 😔 to replace the bumper cover and repair the fender. Am considering having insurance cover it and pay the difference for the euro bumper.

IND usually has used OEM M3 bumpers in stock from customers who upgrade to aftermarket. I had IND fill the reflector holes and paint a used bumper for me "euro style". It turned out great and cost me the same amount that local body shops quoted me to shave the reflectors and paint my brand new OEM bumper. With the IND route I ended up with two bumpers and sold my OEM bumper to further reduce my cost. IND has this work down, you should definitely contact them. It looks like you also have some other damage. I would look into having the local shop repair the other damage and install the ind bumper.

You are way off on this one. I was quoted $1200 to shave the reflectors and repaint my brand new OEM bumper by three different socal shops. His bumper, fender and possibly ancillary parts need repair. There is no way that gets done for $300-$600. Maybe at Earl Scheib with a brush.

i just noticed that you asked for for shaving the reflector. thats extra work and time to prep plus wait to dry yes that will cost more. front bumper with minor scratches or damage cost around 600 since all they need is to sand and prep then spray... now since you mentioned C&C they ususally recondition bumper meaning they will strip the bumper out the paint then repaint they will have to do this cause your shaving off your reflector and repaint the entire bumper that will look like it came off from factory. C&C dont mess around when painting body work they are the best in town. but thats if your willing to spend the extra work $$$$... NOW

if your only looking to sand and repaint. they cost around 300-600 like i said it all depends on where you go..

without modification and recondition your bumper will cost around 900 if you want to make some minor modification will cost you 200-300 extra.

if you didnt want to spend that much and will do a good job..

hit up

DTM AUTOBODY in el monte.

remember when body shop recondition any type of body work usually you will get warranty up to 8 years to lifetime thats why its very expensive. NOW im only speaking with experience with C&C they are the best in town...

ive had experience working at body shops. if you find the right people to do it.. dcent job meaning hahah painting bumpers does not cost a lot. 250-300 and thats with 3 years warranty yes 250 on a bumper...

they all get the paint the same place and make it seem like they use special paint and process are all the same

Did you see the OP's picture? It looks twisted, broke and f'ed up to me. You don't think that would need to be reconditioned and/or take just as much labor to fix as filling the reflectors on a brand new up damaged bumper?
