Where to auto cross in SoCal?
I've been to the track, but am looking for some more local opportunities to stretch out the M's legs.
Are there any auto cross courses/clubs in SoCal that have higher speed turns? The M is not that satisfying to drive only on small tight turns. Rather have a miata for that. |

I dunno about SoCal but the larger autocross events are run by the SCCA up here in NorCal Bay Area. Occasionally they run faster courses. It really depends on the course designer. You'll see the faster courses created by people with faster cars. Sacramento Chapter has a lot of Corvette owners so they tend to run wider/higher speed courses there.
Always a lot of fun but for lap times the M3 gets creamed by Miatas. The Miata is by far the most popular autocross car.

I was thinking about doing a PCA OCR autox event at El Toro. Is there a lot of run off there? It'd probably be a great place to practice driving with the nannies off.

San Diego Chapter BMW CCA autocrosses are fast and fun in the stadium parking lot.

Thanks guys. I like these two options: San Diego Chapter BMW CCA autocrosses and PCA OCR at El Toro. Looks like they put on pretty fun courses.
Now have to determine if it is worth it vs. just going to the track. Good problems! |

Typically, you have to work one run group on track, replacing cones that driver's knock over. Work one, run one. That's my experience.
