Because who would send in perfectly good turbos to be upgraded when there are so many bad sets for $200-300. It was a safe assumption. Most people don't have good turbos lying around and most BMW turbos are shot by 60k if you run any boost through them.

Never got around to upgrading my turbos. I was going to have Turbos Direct do a compressor wheel and turbosmart wastegate upgrade in these but never had the chance.

Because it is perfectly obvious in the last picture in the original post, that, on the turbo on the left, the wastegate flap is clearly not lining up and seating properly. This is the common problem with these turbos, which leads to people replacing them. This is also what causes the dreaded "wastegate rattle."

So why do you no longer need them? You took them off to get them upgraded, but then didnt get around to it,,,but now you are selling them? So what turbos are you running in your car now?

You don't know much about turbos do you? Ill take a video to show both wategastes function and seal perfectly. All waste gates on these td03 turbo have slight "rattle". The defective issue in these turbos is when the diaphram in the actually waste gate fails or splits causing the waste gate to not function properly at all.

People obviously can see suspected wastegate alignment issues, but they can't see all the yellow "junkyard part numbers" written all over them?

Good luck with sale.

I know a pretty good bit about turbos, actually. However, I would not have to know much at all to see that the wastegate on the left does not seal properly.

My god, this thread is filled with uneducated people, do i really have to make a video to show that both waste gate flaps are aligned and seal properly as well as that the diaphragm is in perfect working condition? These were purchased from a reputable turbo provider with a WARRENTY, these were not purchased from a "junk yard"

Lol. Post sounds a little suspicious to me... but I'm no turbo expert.

I have never met someone so persistent about something the know nothing about. I don't want to have to post a video of the turbos showing they work perfectly and embarrass you.
