Drift Day on snow and Ice - July 26/27-Armidale NSW

Guys, I believe this is a first. I’ve organised an event in Armidale NSW, there are only 16 cars permitted, it’s already half booked after just going up
So what’s so special?
On Saturday July 26th there is a scenic drive to Armidale NSW where accommodation and meals are included for a driver and optional partner/s/family. Saturday night is a social night with dinner at a restaurant included (except bar bill)
At midnight some of us go down to the skidpan located 300 meters from the motel and turn on the sprinklers. The skidpan is massive (about 200 metres x 100 metres). There are two weekends a year when it traditionally snows, this weekend and the one before…. So the event:

Drifting on snow and ice with the South African drift champion and another drift champion (and principal of a high profile defensive driving school) instructors for a full day on the track.
Shelter and warm food and drinks will be provided for guests. There will be in car instruction and timed events
Easy on the M and will help you master your drifting skills without ripping up tyres and running hot.
The day will start at 7am and finish at 3pm for those who want to drive home, for those who want to stay back and have a relax and a few drinks accommodation is available.
We already have some members from Sydney coming to this and as always it’s awesome to meet members from m3post for events like this. The drive down will be grouped on Glympse and is a good way to hook up with some locals.
Booking is through the events page only at

http://www.m3world.com.au/shop_events.ews

Either book on line or PM me for further details.

He would be most welcome and joining another Merc owner who is coming with this AMG C63 along with another member from Sydney.
There will be a mix of cars on the day

Oddly enough the travel time from Sydney is exactly the same as from the Gold Coast. Looking forward to catching up to some of the Sydney Chapter at this event

It's very addictive, when you feel just how well balanced the M3 feels in a complete slide and how much control you can achieve. On a track this would shred the tyres in no time but under these conditions there is very little impact on the car

There will be extensive photography and videography in the day

Only 7 spots remain, I know they would have gone the same day it it wasn't for Morgan Park Raceway being one weekend earlier but our facilitator says the most likely weekend for snow is the date set and previous weekend.

Thanks Dave for posting this up. I would not have been aware of it otherwise. I just signed up and am looking forward to the event.

That's great G I just saw your registration. It will be sensational. Our instructors are down there this weekend doing a Reccy of the restaurants. Looking forward to meeting you along with a few of our other friends from Sydney. It's filling up now with only 5 places left. Not everyone uses Facebook and it's great when our friends on M3post can meet up for days like this

Yeah, it's going to to be a good one alright, another one of the forum members also mentioned coming up from Sydney and bringing a friend with a C63. Armidale's looking more like a half way house!
Looking forward to seeing that magnificent frozen black M of yours.

You forgot about our Margaret River ... surf, sun, wine .... you name it. It's a shame you didn't leave the metro because Chris had you under house arrest

We did the South the year before in a Maui, down to Busselton Jetty and beyond so we know what a spectacular place the you have out west.
It would be great to get a team of you Westies over for an event (and some celebrations before, and after)... so make a plan!

If there is a decent number of cars coming from Sydney, we could convoy.
The M's can team up on the C63's

There are only 16 cars to fill the event, so far including you and your friend with the C63, and another there are three, but Mannimans has expressed interest too with another with a C63, which would be 5 unless any of the others fro NSW are keen.

I'll set up a Glympse for the trip and hopefully all will join in, hookup at the motel on Sat arv and head down for some drinks and dinner.
There are only 4 spots left

Hmm Gerry told me about this event last week, I'm seriously considering it albeit I have a major kitchen reno going in around this date.

If I was to go (and there was a spot left remaining for a 335i!) I definately would be keen to convoy up with some of you Sydney boys.

Good on you Dave for organising this day!

It would be great to have you along, Gerry's going too. It's right out of the norm from the usual track day.

Armidale event now open to event only places.(no meals or accommodation) This is a complete day on track with 2 instructors. The event only option is only $295.00 for the entire day. Temperatures have been lower than average so we can expect some snow.
There are 3 places available and after checking with motels in Armidale there is no problem with accommodation.
To reserve your spot
http://www.m3world.com.au/shop_events.ews

or pm me for more details.

We have members from NSW and Queensland attending so it will be great to meet up at the restaurant on Saturday night
