Just flipped from in transit back to at the port - never seen it go backwards before. Guessing maybe it means it made it to Renton? Can’t call BMW on a weekend but will see if my dealer has an update.

final assembly is just the last bits that need to be done (quick dyno test, and test drive, etc) before they park it and wait for it to get assigned to a truck or train depending on where you are. my guess will be it will be moving on monday. NC it should be at the dealer the same day or next day
Yes. It was change to Awaiting carrier assignment last night as you said
Expect to see it soon!

Spent a few hours in quality check this morning and now in awaiting carrier assignment…hard to believe it would take till the end of June to be at the dealership like my SA says, in the Midwest!

Confirmed it's in Renton and they're expecting in PDX Tuesday - fingers crossed we'll see if I can get it before the holiday weekend!

Same here. This Renton must be a special place. Why cars sit for 7-10 days (logistical issues probably) is frustrating. Other members whose build dates were same as mine (4/24) are already driving them.

I see "DISPATCHED FROM FACTORY" now.
It takes about 4 hours from BMW at SC to my area.
Hopefully it would be arrived at dealership today and I would be able to see it tomorrow afternoon.

I picked up mine recently from BMW of Columbia, in SC. It took 9 days for mine from Dispatched from Factory to at the dealership. I learned from Genius, it goes first in a train from factory to VPC in Greer, then gets picked up in a truck to the dealership. Most the time it was "at the port" status, which means it waiting for the truck to be picked up from VPC (Vehicle Processing Center) - So in my case - my build date was 05/09 - Became Dispatched from Factory on 9th itself - At the port status on 10th, then remained like that till 17th of may - then became In Transit, and At dealership on 18th of May..

the factory is IN greer

they only transport cars bound for the west coast by rail. All cars bound for the east coast and center of the country go by truck.

what most likely happened is that there were not a lot of cars from the factory going to your dealer/area so it took a week for an entire trailer to be filled.
dispatched from factory means that it was released to the carrier and was waiting to get on a truck.

as of 2022, there's no vdc in south carolina
BMW of North America currently operates VDCs in New Jersey, Maryland, Georgia, Texas, and California

Yeah.. this is the first time for me to order BMW.

The status was just changed by "At the port".

My SA sent me a screen capture which shows some estimated info he saw on his system.
Below are all "Estimated".

Arrive At VPC : 5/22/23 (this happend. So, Actual was marked as 5/22/23)
Ship from VPC : 5/25/23
Dealer Delivery : 5/26/23

VPC is an old term- it used to be where the cars would go to get prepped at the port once they came off the ship, to be staged and loaded onto trucks. no VPC in SC, so they're basically using that to cover the holding step.

if the car was from overseas, arrive at vpc would mean coming off the boat, being cleaned (in the old days it would be a steam clean to remove the cosmoline) then any repairs or recall campaigns. then it would be staged for truck transport, basically waiting to fill a truck.

Ship from VPC is the date the truck is scheduled to leave the factory en route to your dealer.

Wow, that seems like a really quick turn around time? My dealer had an allocation available, placed an order for an '24 X7 M60i on 4/18, and I've been sitting in "Order Received" state for over a month.

Mine is 40i. 60i takes more time apparently

X7 40i Ordered 5/24

I just placed my order today for an X7 40i. My dealership had an allocation, and they gave me week 25 as my build date (June 18-24). I'm antsy so this is great. I have a Tesla right now, and the wait for that one was brutal. I'm so glad this one is better!

Mine skipped forward a couple weeks from its anticipated production date, this was the second to last week in April, finished production at the end of April and has been in Quality Check ever since. I called genius and they said it could be there for 6 weeks. We are buying a house so I am hoping it doesn’t come in after we start that process!

I guess I missed that calling the BMW genius line will give you more information. While my order has been stuck at "order received" since 4/18, by calling in they were able to give me my anticipated build week which was 26. I feel like my dealer should have communicated this to me?

Got lucky and found a 24 40i with exact specs we were looking for in "Dispatched From Factory". Dealer said it is scheduled to be here the week of 6/3. My birthday is 5/30 so hoping there is a miracle and it comes early.

My build happens on 4/24. It has been in transit for 25 days. BMW genius was no help today and just now I moved a step back to at the port. I am in Oregon and I know they send to Renton wa. May be it’s there now. Anyone else had similar experience in the Pacific Northwest?
